Former India spinner Piyush Chawla believes Mumbai Indians are becoming a serious threat after their 54-run win over Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium on April 27. He praised Mumbai’s squad depth, highlighting that almost every player, from the top order to the bowlers, is capable of winning matches. Piyush Chawla pointed out the impressive performances of Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Will Jacks, saying, “Whatever Hardik Pandya is doing, it’s working for the team, and that’s what Mumbai Indians are all about.”

Mumbai Indians have now won five matches in a row after a slow start to the season, making them a team everyone should fear. Chawla also praised Bumrah for his game-changing role as an impact player, stating that Mumbai is now “on a roll,” and opponents should be very cautious.

Speaking about the second match on Super Sunday, Chawla applauded Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) six-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals. Despite early trouble in their chase of 163, Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya’s vital century partnership helped RCB bounce back strongly. Kohli scored a steady 51, while Krunal smashed an unbeaten 73 off 47 balls. Chawla credited the pair for handling pressure smartly and guiding RCB to the top of the points table with 14 points.
