Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori has urged his team to bounce back strongly as they prepare for a must-win clash against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025. Reflecting on SRH’s disappointing campaign so far, Vettori admitted the side has been inconsistent and has failed to deliver complete performances across batting, bowling, and fielding. With only three wins from nine matches, SRH must win all remaining games to stay in the playoff race. Despite the setbacks, Vettori praised young talent Aniket Verma and expressed hope that the team can regroup and deliver when it matters most against GT.
Daniel Vettori Admits SRH’s Inconsistency, Eyes Turnaround vs GT

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Daniel Vettori has candidly admitted that his team has underperformed in IPL 2025, stating they’ve let themselves down by failing to deliver consistent, all-round performances. With just three wins from nine matches, SRH now face a must-win clash against Gujarat Titans on Friday, May 2, at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium to keep their playoff hopes alive.
“We’ve let ourselves down in one area almost every game. The top teams are consistent across batting, bowling, and fielding, and that’s where we’ve struggled,” Vettori said during the pre-match press conference.
Despite SRH’s challenges, Vettori praised young batter Aniket Verma, who has impressed in his debut season with 190 runs, calling him a key positive. With playoff chances hanging by a thread, Vettori and SRH will hope for a big turnaround starting with their upcoming clash against GT.
