Aakash Chopra believes that while Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have made some smart decisions this season, they are yet to hit their peak performance. After KKR’s 14-run victory over Delhi Capitals, Chopra praised moves like giving Anukul Roy the new ball and Sunil Narine’s brilliant all-round performance. However, he pointed out that with their deep batting lineup, KKR should be posting even bigger totals and that domestic players like Harshit Rana need to step up. Chopra feels that KKR have the potential to be even stronger as the IPL 2025 playoffs approach.
Aakash Chopra Believes KKR Still Have Room to Improve

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured an important 14-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, keeping their IPL 2025 playoff hopes alive. However, former India opener Aakash Chopra feels that while KKR made some smart choices, the team has not reached its full potential yet.
Aakash Chopra praised KKR’s decision to use Anukul Roy with the new ball, calling it a game-changing move. Roy bowled economically and dismissed the dangerous Abishek Porel early. Sunil Narine’s outstanding all-round performance, including a rare direct-hit run-out of KL Rahul, was highlighted by Chopra as the key moment that shifted the match in KKR’s favor.
Even though KKR posted 204 runs, Chopra believes that with their powerful batting lineup, they should be aiming for even higher scores, around 240. He also stressed that young Indian pacer Harshit Rana needs to step up, especially since KKR are depending heavily on domestic bowlers without an overseas fast bowler.
Chopra concluded by saying that while KKR are in a strong position, they still have a few areas to polish if they want to dominate the playoffs and truly peak when it matters most.
