Batters have been working hard to improve their skills, face new challenges, and set new records. In One Day Internationals (ODIs), players need stamina and great technique to score big for their teams.

Here are the top five highest scorers in women’s ODI history.

5. Laura Wolvaardt- 184* vs Sri Lanka 2024

On April 17, Laura Wolvaardt made history by scoring 184 not out from 147 balls against Sri Lanka. This is the highest score ever by a player on the losing team.

Wolvaardt, who batted first, hit 23 fours and four sixes, helping South Africa reach 301 runs. Her timing was excellent, and she placed her shots perfectly.

However, Sri Lanka chased down the target in less than 45 overs, with Chamari Athapaththu scoring 195 runs.

4. Deepti Sharma- 188 vs Ireland, 2017

In May 2017, India made their highest One Day International (ODI) score of 358 runs against Ireland. Deepti Sharma and Punam Raut played a big part, with Deepti scoring 188 runs from 160 balls, hitting 27 fours and two sixes.

Ireland’s team was then all out for 109 runs, losing the match by 249 runs.

3. Chamari Athapaththu- 195* vs South Africa, 2024

After Wolvaardt scored 184 runs in the first half, Sri Lanka needed to chase a difficult target of 302 runs. They needed strong batting to win.

Luckily, captain Chamari Athapaththu played brilliantly, helping Sri Lanka score quickly. She made 195 runs without getting out, hitting 26 fours and five sixes. They reached the target in less than 45 overs.

2. Belinda Clark- 229* vs Demark, 1997

In the 1997 Women’s World Cup, Australia’s captain, Belinda Clark, played incredibly well and helped her team score 412 runs.

Clark made 229 runs without getting out, facing 155 balls. She got support from Karen Rolton, who scored 64, and Lisa Keightley, who scored 60. Denmark was all-out for 49 runs, losing the game by a big margin of 363 runs.

1. Amelia Kerr- 232* vs Ireland, 2018

In June 2018, New Zealand played against Ireland in Dublin. New Zealand batted first. Amelia Kerr and Amy Satterthwaite scored 113 runs together in less than 14 overs. Satterthwaite was out after scoring 61 runs.

Kerr continued to bat strongly and scored 232 runs not out from 145 balls, hitting 31 fours and two sixes. She also had a 295-run partnership with Leigh Kasperek, who scored 113 runs. This helped New Zealand reach a total of 440 runs.

In reply, Ireland were all out for 135 runs. Kerr took 5 wickets for just 17 runs.
