Sourav Ganguly Cricket School, managed by the SGF under the Ganguly Education & Welfare Society, is a visionary initiative by Mr. Sourav Ganguly. This clinic aims to nurture not just cricketing skills but also the holistic development of each student. Here, young cricketers learn the finer points of the game while being instilled with a sense of toughness and a never-say-die attitude.
At Sourav Ganguly Cricket School, students are encouraged to cultivate essential traits beyond cricket, including temperament, discipline, physical fitness, and public speaking skills. Brief History
Their journey began in May 2017 and have quickly established a presence across West Bengal. Currently, Sourav Ganguly Cricket School operates three centers in the state:
- DPS New Town, Kolkata
- LMET International School, Berhampur, Murshidabad
- G D Goenka Public School, Siliguri, Darjeeling
With these schools, they have over 180 registered students. They announced their next center at Julien Day School in Kalyani, Nadia.
Achievements
- In 2018, LMET International School, Berhampur, Murshidabad, became the East Zone Champions, qualifying for the national round of the “Star Pro-Cricket Tournament” in Mumbai.
- One of the player has been selected for the U-16 Bengal Team, showcasing his talent and hard work.
- The School Sports Federation cricket tournament is currently taking place across various districts in Bengal.
- Ten boys from Sourav Ganguly Cricket School have been selected to represent the LMET team.
- Eight boys have been selected to represent the G D Goenka School team in this tournament.
