Clash Royale Merge Tactics is set to soar in February 2026 with a seasonal update that refreshes competitive play, brings back a popular Ruler, and introduces meaningful progression improvements for dedicated players.
New badge system adds competitive prestige
One of the biggest highlights in Clash Royale Merge Tactics this February is the introduction of a brand-new competitive badge system. Players who finish the season among the top 1,000 on the leaderboard will now earn a special badge that permanently displays their highest achieved rank.
This system allows long-term bragging rights, as the badge only updates if a player surpasses their previous best finish in a future season. The addition gives Clash Royale Merge Tactics a stronger competitive identity and rewards consistent high-level performance rather than short-term results.
Spirit Empress returns with fresh cosmetics

After skipping the previous season, Spirit Empress makes her return as the featured Ruler in Clash Royale Merge Tactics. Her signature ability, Fusion Foresight, encourages aggressive merging by granting bonus Elixir for every successful merge, making her a favorite for high-tempo strategies.
Players who missed her original release can unlock Spirit Empress through Ruler Cards and progress along her upgrade path. Meanwhile, veterans of Clash Royale Merge Tactics who already own her will gain access to new cosmetic rewards tied to progression milestones. These include multiple themed skins such as Ivy Empress, Auric Empress, Inferno Empress, and the visually striking Wushi Empress skin, alongside new confetti effects like Flaming Fury.
The Wushi Empress skin is also available separately in the Ruler Skins Shop, offering additional customization options.
New and reworked modifiers reshape gameplay
February’s update also brings three new seasonal modifiers to Clash Royale Merge Tactics, designed to reward smart planning and troop investment. Star Advantage increases the power gap between high- and low-Star units, Domination boosts elite troops at 3-Star and above, and Merge Bonus grants extra base troops with every merge.
Several older modifiers have also been adjusted. Building modifiers now provide a 3-Star building in Round 5 instead of an earlier 2-Star version, while tile modifiers spawn two tiles at the start of battle, significantly impacting early-round positioning.
Together, these changes ensure Clash Royale Merge Tactics feels deeper, more strategic, and more rewarding throughout the February 2026 season.
